The Royal Film Commission-Jordan Extends Submission Deadline to Its Rawi Screenwriters' Lab

The Royal Film Commission-Jordan (RFC) has announced that the submission deadline for its 13th
Rawi Screenwriters' Lab has been extended until March 19, 2017 by midnight, Jordan time.
The Lab gives an opportunity for Arab screenwriters to develop their work in a uniquely creative environment under the guidance of internationally acclaimed screenwriters from all over the world.
Each participant has several one-on-one story sessions with the lab's creative advisors. The advisors' guidance ranges from improving the fellow's technique as a screenwriter, to life lessons and practical suggestions to be explored in their next draft. Emphasis is placed on each fellow's individual voice and story.

The 13th Rawi Screenwriters' Lab will be running from July 7 until July 11, 2017. Run in collaboration with Sundance Institute, the Rawi Screenwriters' Lab has supported over 70 emerging Arab screenwriters over the years.

Eligible applicants have to fill in an online application form in English in word format, through this link www.film.jo/Contents/How-To-Applyar.aspx, and send it to rawi@film.jo. Screenplays in Arabic
will be initially considered, provided the applicant sends an English translation, once requested to do so by the Rawi team. Only Arab screenwriters/filmmakers are eligible to apply, regardless of their country of residence. Screenwriters working on their first or second narrative feature screenplay can apply.

The Royal Film Commission (RFC) was established in July 2003 as a financially and administratively autonomous Jordanian public organization with a vision to develop an internationally competitive Jordanian film industry. The RFC organizes workshops, film screenings, and production services.
