The Rifle, The Jackal, The Wolf, and The Boy Screens at Metropolis Cinema on Wednesday


The Rifle, The Jackal, The Wolf, and The Boy by director Oualid Mouaness has been selected to screen as part of the events of the 2nd Lebanese Short Films Night Programme. Scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 20 at the Metropolis Empire Sofil Cinema, in Beirut, the short film's screening will be held along with three other films; Tshweesh by director Feyrouz Serhal, Moutawasset (Mediterranean) by director Talal Khoury, and 95 OCTANE by director François Yazbek.

Written and directed by Oualid Mouaness, The Rifle, The Jackal, The Wolf, and The Boy stars FidelBadran, Ali Mneimneh, Jad Badran, and Layal Ghanem. Set in a mountain village in Lebanon, two brothers use their dad's rifle behind his back, unaware of the dire consequences of their action.

The Rifle, The Jackal, The Wolf, and The Boy had four full-house screenings in Egypt, across Cairo and other governorates, as part of the Oscars Shorts Programme. Launched by MAD Solutions, the distributor of the film in the Arab world, the Oscars Shorts Programme includes five Arab short films from MAD Solutions' list of distribution films that made it or were nominated to the Oscars.

The film was shortlisted for the 89th Academy Awards' Best Live-Action Short Film in 2017. The film toured more than 20 international film festivals and received the Special Jury Award at the Short To The Point International Short Film Festival.
