MAD Solutions Takes Part in Palestine Cinema Days with Four Films


MAD Solutions participates in Palestine Cinema Days (October 2-9) with four films: Fatwa by Mahmoud Ben Mahmoud, The Giraffe by Ahmed Magdy, Dreamaway by Marouan Omara and Johanna Domke and Railway Men by Erige Sehiri. It's worth mentioning that MAD Solutions handles the distribution of the four films.

Palestine Cinema Days is an annual film event, organized by Filmlab Palestine, that aims to take the Palestinian filmmaking industry to the international level and promote local and international films to revive cinema culture in Palestine.

About Fatwa Film:

The film tells the story of Brahim, a Tunisian guy living in France, who decides to go back to Tunisia to attend his son's funeral who passed away in a motorcycle accident. He then discovers that Marouane, his son, was militating with a radical Islamist group, so Brahim decides to identify the people who brainwashed his son until. The investigation leads him to doubt the circumstances surrounding his son's death.

Written and directed by Mahmoud Ben Mahmoud, Fatwa stars Ahmed Hafiane, Ghalia Benali, and Sarra Hannachi. The filmreceived 18 international award. The film is produced by Arts Distribution (Tunisia) and Les Films du Fleuve (Belgium), and distributed by MAD Solutions in the Arab world.

About Dreamaway:

Representing freedom and easy cash, Sharm El Sheikh has long been a dream destination for Egyptian youth. Recently, terror attacks have brought tourism in the resort town to a halt. Dreamaway follows a group of young employees of a luxury hotel compound, where clichés and stereotypes of Western and Oriental cultures clash. This carousel-like experience elevates the youths into a dreamlike state.

Directed by Marouan Omara and Johanna Domke, Dreamaway received Bronze Prize for Best Artistic Contribution at the Luxor African Film Festival. The film is produced by Roman Roitman (Monokel/Germany), Mark Lotfy (Fig Leaf Studio/Egypt) and Arne Birkenstock (Fruitmarket Kultur und Medien/Germany). Moreover, MAD Solutions handles the film's distribution in the Arab world.

About The Giraffe:

Through the streets of the city that are void of all but its ghosts, Ahmed is lost and depleted of faith. Tonight, he must save a girl he doesn't know who is in a lot of trouble. He finds himself involved with an eccentric group of young people lead by an enigmatic girl who is trying to uncover the mystery behind the Giraffe hidden at the zoo.

The Giraffe, written and directed by Ahmed Magdy, premiered at the 40th Cairo International Film Festival. The film stars Amr Hosny, Shaza Moharam, Haydi Koussa, Salma Hassan, Rasha Magdy, Mohammed El Badawy, and Osama Gawish. The film is co-produced by Garage Art Production, Utaco Digital Film, Fig Leaf Studio. The film's distribution in the Arab world is by MAD Solutions.

About Railway Men:

Railway Men is a road movie that draws a portrait of Tunisian railway men and women. Driving the old locomotive, the protagonists of the Railway Men defend their own choices despite the risks. By denouncing incompetence and corruption, this film celebrates dignity, hope and resilience.

The film received Audience Award at Festival Filmer le travail, Poitiers, France and a Special Mention at The International Festival Of Mediterranean Cinema, Montpellier.
