MAD Solutions Holds the Premiere of Zay Ood El Kabreet within the Attendance of Celebrities and Film Critics

Yesterday, Wednesday the 24th of August, MAD Solutions held the premiere of Hussein Al Imam's last film and only directorial work, Zay Ood El Kabreet (Like a Matchstick), at Zawya cinema.

The premiere was attended by star Sahar Ramy, wife of the late star Hussein Al Imam, his son Youssef Al Imam along with a large number of celebrities, filmmakers and public figures, including; stars Samir Sabry and Mohamed Lotfy; directors Khairy Beshara and Yousry Nasrallah; Father Boutros Daniel, Director of the Catholic Egyptian Center for Cinema and film critics Nader Adly, Walid Seif, Ramy Abdel Razik and Entisar Dardir.

Through his Facebook profile, film critic Mahmoud Abd El Shakour wrote "After watching the film, Zay Ood El Kabreet is the best comedy film I watched this year. Hussein Al Imam is singing, dancing and acting to make us laugh deeply. The film is a high parody with a greeting to the black and white cinema mixed with nostalgia for the old days. I applauded for a long time and I took my hat off to the talent of this star in his best works. Do not miss watching that adorable film at Zawya cinema throughout this week."

Also film critic Andrew Mohsen wrote "I loved Zay Ood El Kabreet, it is a funny experience because it moved away from the logic and usual Egyptian comedy films. I think that the Egyptian cinema lacks that different kind of comedy films." Also journalist Mohamed Fahmy commented on the film, "I enjoyed the film so much and I haven't laughed like that in a long time. I was pleased to see the loyal star Samir Sabry and what he said about the late star Hussein Al Imam and Nadia Lotfy. I highly recommend watching the film which is screened at Zawya cinema."

Back to the Egyptian cinema's Golden Era, Zay Ood El Kabreet connects Hussein Al Imam and a number of film stars of the silver screen including; Faten Hamama, Hend Rostom, Mahmoud El-Meliguy, Hussein Riad, Imad Hamdi, Magda El Khatib, Farid Shawqi, Samir Sabry and other stars.

Zay Ood El Kabreet is a comedic tale invented by the late filmmaker Al Imam to pay tribute to the super stars of the Egyptian cinema's Golden Era. The plot combines scenes starring 21 actors from the age of black and white films with other scenes written by and starring Al Imam.

The end product leads to the rediscovery of golden age actors in a new context. Along with Hussein Al Imam, the film stars Sahar Ramy, Khaled Mahrous, Zakaria Amer and singer Randa El-Sobky.
