MAD Solutions Distributes Mai Masri's 3000 Nights in the Arab World

Along with its world premiere in Toronto International Film Festival (10 - 20 September) as part of Contemporary World Cinema section, MAD Solutions revealed the news on doing the distribution and marketing for the Palestinian film 3000 Nights. Directed by the acclaimed and award-winning documentary film director Mai Masri, 3000 Nights is her feature directorial debut.

Commenting on this, Alaa Karkouti, CEO of MAD Solutions stated, "Mai Masri is one of the most important documentary filmmakers in the Arab world, therefore her long awaited feature debut film is an important step that finally came true. 3000 Nights has a story imbued with humane touches and is made with intense professionalism. We are very excited in MAD to bring such a film to the Arab world audiences."

A Palestinian, Jordanian, French and Lebanese co-production, 3000 Nights stars Maisa Abdelhadi and Nadira Omran. The film tells the story of a young Palestinian schoolteacher who is falsely accused and incarcerated in an Israeli prison, where she gives birth to a baby boy. Through her struggle in prison, she finds strength learns to stand up to fight for her son.

Mai Masri is a Palestinian-American filmmaker. She studied film at UC Berkeley and San Francisco State University (USA) where she graduated with a BA degree. Holding an extensive repertoire of documentaries packed with humanistic passion, Masri's films have received over 60 awards from major international film festivals. Her filmography includes; Under the Rubble (1983), Wild Flowers: Women of South Lebanon (1986), Children of Fire (1990), Suspended Dreams (1992), Children of Shatila (1998) A Woman for Her Time (1995), Beirut Diaries (2006), Frontiers of Dreams and Fears (2001), and 33 Days(2007).
