Lebanese Shorts Programme Screens at Cinémathèque Tunisienne
Lebanese Shorts Programme will screen within the events of the Cinémathèque Tunisienne-Centre National du Cinema et de l’Image on Tuesday, June 8. The programme will include six short films, including Before We Heal, by director Nadim Hobeika; Bonbone’, by director Rakan Mayasi; Lilacs, by director Mira Shaib; Nightshift, by director Marc Salameh; Nocturne in Black, by director Jimmy Keyrouz and Sunday Market: Tripoli, by director Yahya Mourad.

About Before We Heal:
Saleem and Raya meet at Raya's place. Saleem enters the toilet and somehow gets stuck. Between the inside and the outside, trials and disappointments, laughter and hope, memories and screams, are all being shared at the doorstep.

Written and directed by Nadim Hobeika, Before We Heal stars Yumna Marwan, Mohammad Bsat and Elie Njeim. The film's crew includes Cinematographer Céline Layous, Editor Nathalie Rbeiz, and Composer Jean Nassif. Before We Heal is distributed in the Arab world by MAD Solutions.

About Lilacs:
Directed by Mira Shaib, the short film Lilacs follows the story of Hanna, a melancholic woman who comes to Lebanon after 12 years of absence. She wants to find her twin brother Firas who has been kidnapped during the Lebanese Civil War. The film stars Wafaa Halawi, Faek Hmaisy, and Aliya Khalidi.

Lilacs is produced by Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (Germany) and 4th Wall Productions (Jordan) of producer Aya Naboulsi, and supported by Robert Bosch Stiftung (Germany). MAD Solutions is handling the film's distribution through the Arab world.

About Nocturne in Black:
The film is inspired by an article about a Syrian young man who continues to play his piano under threat of persecution in the midst of his country's civil war and struggles to rebuild his piano after it is destroyed by terrorists.

Written, edited and directed by Jimmy Keyrouz, Nocturne in Black stars Julian Farhat, Tarek Yaacoub, Karim Zein and Rachid Salloum. The film is produced by Marc Fadel, Ellie Foumbi, Felecia Hunter and Jimmy Keyrouz.

About Sunday Market: Tripoli
Between the Lebanese civil war and the Syrian occupation, some ex-fighters find themselves trapped right in the middle! Searching for their freedom, they decide to head to the city of Tripoli for a new life. There, they settle in the flea market, the Sunday Market, which soon becomes more than just a market to them....it becomes the place where they find their freedom!
Directed by Yahya Mourad, Sunday Market: Tripoli is distributed in the Arab world by MAD Solutions.

About Nightshift:
The events of Nightshift revolve around a factory guard who suffers from permanent short memory, which makes him record what is required of him immediately to remember. However, his life is disturbed when he hears of the kidnapping of the factory owner’s daughter. His Nightshift is turned upside down after this news.

Directed and written by Marc Salameh, Nightshift stars Issam Bou Khaled, Sobhiya Al Najjar, Marc Asmar, Nay Azar and Georges Matar. MAD Solutions handles the film’s distribution across the Arab world.

About Bonbone’:
In less than 16 minutes, BONBONÉ follows a Palestinian inmate serving time in an Israeli jail receives a visit from his wife who devises a bold and crafty operation to fulfill their secret desires.

Written and directed by Rakan Mayasi, BONBONÉ stars Saleh Bakri, Rana Alamuddin and features Nadira Omran. BONBONÉ is produced by Groundglass235 in co-production with The Postoffice and Mad4Films, and in association with DB Studios.
