Lagoonie Film Production Presents A Monetary Award to One of the Film Projects at the Final Cut in Venice Workshop


The Venice International Film Festival organizers have announced that Lagoonie Film Production will present a monetary award of five thousand euros to one of the Arab film projects in the post-production stage participating in the Final Cut in Venice workshop held on the margins of the festival from September 1-3.

Lagoonie Film Production is an Egyptian film production company established by Producer Shahinaz Elakkad in 2017. The company aims to develop the film and TV industry in Egypt and the Arab world through making international films and TV series that address new non-mainstream topics to put the Arab film and TV industry on the international map.

Lagoonie co-produced Ana Shahira.. Ana El Kha'en TV series by writer Noor Abdulmajeed and season two of Seventh Neighbor TV series, in addition to producing the short film Shoka w Sekeena. The company is going to announce other interesting projects in the coming period.

The 6th Final Cut in Venice workshop supports films in the post-production stage from Africa, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria. The film selections are screened to an audience of producers, distributors and programmers of international film festivals. The workshop concludes with an award ceremony to honor the winning films that will be supported through the post-production phase.

The Final Cut in Venice aims to develop the role of the Venice International Film Festival to become a bridge that supports independent filmmaking in these countries by providing effective production support and promoting the films on the international market level.
