Kiss Me Not Screens at the Malmo Arab Film Festival in Sweden


Director Ahmed Amer's feature film Kiss ME Not is taking part in the 8th edition of the Malmö Arab Film Festival (MAFF) in Sweden that will be held from 5 to 9 October. The film will screen on Sunday, October 7, at 09:45 pm (GMT +1).

Standing as a unique platform for the Nordic and Arab film industries, MAFF aims to screen films from different Arab countries for the foreign communities residing in Sweden that include almost 175 nationalities. The festival attracts thousands of filmmakers annually, including directors, actors, producers, and film enthusiasts from around the world.

The Egyptian Film Association organizes a screening of Kiss Me Not at Cinema El Hanager in Cairo Opera House on Saturday, September 29, at 07:00 pm.

Most recently, the film was commercially released at the Tunisian theatres for six consecutive weeks due to high audience demand, in addition to its release at Cinémathèque de Tanger in Morocco and VOX Cinemas at the Mall of the Emirates for two weeks. It was previously released at Metropolis Cinema in Lebanon after its release in Egyptian theaters in 26 screens, achieving wide critical acclaim. In August, the film screened at Malmö, Sweden as part of the summer screenings organized by the Malmö Arab Film Festival.

Kiss Me Not landed its world premiere at the 14th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) within the Arabian Nights programme. The film took part in the Festival des Cinémas Arabes à Paris in France, and Shanghai International Film Festival in China, and Miami Film Festival in USA, in addition to receiving a Special Mention at the 1st Jounieh International Film Festival in Lebanon. Kiss Me Not also screened at the Aswan International Women Film Festival (AIWFF) in Egypt and Tripoli Film Festival in Lebanon.

Written and directed by Ahmed Amer, Kiss Me Not follows a young and ambitious Egyptian director who faces issues while shooting a kissing scene in his new film with the leading actress who decides to pursue a more religious path.

Kiss Me Not stars Yasmin Raeis, Mohamed Mahran, Salwa Mohamed Ali and Aida Riad with guest stars actress Sawsan Badr, late director Mohamed Khan and director Khairy Beshara as themselves. The film is produced by Middlewest Films, WIKA for Film Production and Distribution and MAD Solutions, and distributed by MAD Distribution.
