Four Star Films Leads the Oscars Nominations with Five Movies


Five films were distributed in Egypt by Four Star Films have succeeded to join the final list of the
Oscars® race by 13 nominations. The list was announced by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and the winner will be announced on 28th February at the 88th Academy Awards® ceremony.

The biggest number of nominations belongs to The Big Short received five nominations namely; Best Picture award, Best Director for Adam McKay, Best Film Editing for Hank Corwin, Best Adapted Screenplay to Adam McKay and Charles Randolph and Best Supporting
Actor for Christian Bale.

The Danish Girl joins the race by four nominations; Best Actor for Eddie Redmayne,
Best Supporting Actress to Alicia Vikander, Best Costume Design for Paco Delgado and
Best Production Design for Michael Standish and Eve Stewart.

Michael Fassbender is nominated for the Best Actor award for his portrayal of Apple maverick
Steve Jobs' biopic alongside Kate Winslet as Best Supporting Actress.

In addition, Fifty Shades of Grey is nominated for the Best Original Song award and Straight Outta Compton for the Best Original Screenplay award.

In 2015, Four Star Films released Steve Jobs, Fifty Shades of Grey and Straight Outta Compton in Egyptian theatres in addition to The Big Short which is now released in theatres and it is planned to release The Danish Girl within the coming weeks.

Four Star Films is the sole Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures films' distributer in Egypt.
