Film Analyst and MAD Solution's CEO Alaa Karkouti travels to Morocco and France to participate in two meetings within the Euromed Audiovisual III Programme of the European Union.

Karkouti will travel first to the Moroccan capital, Casablanca, to attend the first meeting of the group of cinema experts in the partnership countries of Euromed Audiovisual III Programme. The meeting will be held at the Moroccan Film Agency (Centre Cinematographique Marocain) on June 20th and June 21st, 2013. Alaa will be part of a panel titled 'the Current Status of Film Policies and Markets in the Arab Countries of the Mediterranean Region', where he gives a short presentation on the economics of filmmaking in the Arab world.

A number of Arab filmmakers will participate in the panel including Chahinaz Mohamadi and Ali Malekfrom Algeria, Youssef Sherif Rizkallah and Sherif Mandour from Egypt, Mohannad Al Bakri and Najeh Somer from Jordan, Maroun Salhani from Lebanon, Tariq Khalami and Mohamed Abdellatif Layounifrom Morocco and from Tunisia Adnane Kheder.

Soon after, Karkouti travels to La Rochelle city, France, to take part in the 5th meeting of the Euromed's Financing Working Group (FWG), which will be held on June 26th and June 27th, 2013. Taking place within the framework of Sunny Side of the Doc Festival, the event is focusing on the relation between television broadcasters and filmmaking, and Alaa Karkouti will run a session on the contribution of private TV channels to film production in the region.
