In the presence of its director Mahmoud Lotfy, Experimental Summer will screen at Megraya Culture Center in Minya on Saturday, September 25th, at 7:00 PM. The screening is held in collaboration with Contemporary Image Collective and MAD Solutions, which is in-charge of the film's distribution in the Arab World, and will be followed by a Q&A session with the film's director.

Both Mahmoud and Zeinab join hands to search for the original version of the first Egyptian independent film that was made back in the 1980s, all copies of which were either destroyed or confiscated for unknown reasons by the government film agency, an entity that governed film production and distribution at the time. ’Experimental Summer’ is a fantasy journey into the world of filmmaking.

Mahmoud Lotfy is an Egyptian filmmaker, who has worked as a screenwriter, director, producer, and cinematographer in a variety of independent films. Experimental Summer marks his feature debut. The film has previously screened at Berlin International Film Festival.
