Emirati Film Abdullah Lands its Qatari Premiere


Emirati film Abdullah by director Humaid Alsuwaidi will be screened for the first time in Qatar at
the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha. The screening, which are organized by Doha Film Institute, will be held on the 26th and 27th of January.

Abdullah follows the story of a young man who grew up in a very conservative family where many things are "haram" while he struggles over the years to hide his love for music. Abdullah stars Mohammed Ahmed, Mansour Al Feeli, Fatima Altaei, Alaa Shaker, David Daly and Brent Jenkins.

Written and directed by Humaid Alsuwaidi, who also co-produced the film along with Ahmed Lotfy, Abdullah was filmed on a shoestring budget over 34 days in Ajman and Abu Dhabi, while Creative
Lab and Twofour54 provided the equipment for filming. Mile Studios in Dubai is handling the film's post-production phase and MAD Solutions is distributing the film in the Arab world.

An Emirati writer, producer and director Humaid Alsuwaidi is a graduate of the New York
Film Academy in Los Angeles. Abdullah is his directorial debut.
