Dhafer L'Abidine Travels Back in Time to the 1940s for the New TV Series Lyaly Eugenia

Tunisian star Dhafer L'Abidine is preparing to begin shooting his first scenes in the new TV series Lyaly Eugenia today, Friday. Set to air during the upcoming Ramadan season, the events of Lyaly Eugenia take place during the 1940s and L'Abidine plays the role of Dr. Farid. For the fourth year in a row, Dhafer L'Abidine participates in the race of the Ramadan season in Egyptian TV dramas to become one of the few Arab actors who Ramadan cannot be complete without them.

The events of Lyaly Eugenia take place between Cairo and Portsaid in 1946, a notable period of time in Egyptian history, where many foreigners from Europe and Asia were living in Egypt, the distinctive architecture of the time, and the relationship between the bourgeois and workers social classes, as well as the clothes and poetry that characterize said period, which carry a special elegance and characterize Egypt.

Adapted from a Spanish TV series, Lyaly Eugenia is directed by Hany Khalifa and written by Ingy El Kassem and Samaa Abdel Khale'. The feminine role will be assigned to star Amina Khalil or the Lebanese star Carmen Bsaibes. Lyaly Eugenia stars Engy Al-Moqaddem, Entisar, Asmaa Abul Yazid, Laila Ezz El Arab, and Khaled Kamal. The new TV series is produced by Beelink Productions, marking the second collaboration with L'Abidine since Halawet Al Dounia.

Most recently, L'Abidine attended the premiere of Habbet Caramel in Dubai. The film is planned to be released in Tunisian theatres in February. 200.000 tickets were sold during the release of Habbet Caramel in the Lebanese. The film is continuing its overwhelming success in cinemas for the seventh week in a row.

Habbet Caramel is based on the successful Lebanese TV series Caramel that he starred in last Ramadan. The TV show's unprecedented success in the Arab world prompted its quick adaptation into a film.

Together with L'Abidine, the film features a number of stars from the TV series such as Maguy Bou Ghosn, Talal El Jordi and Jessy Abdo. Habbet Caramel is directed by Elie F. Habib, written by Mazen Taha and produced by Eagle Films. The film tells a number of love stories with strange and interesting events.
