On the closing ceremony of its third edition within Cairo International Film Festival (CIC), the Cairo Film Connection (CFC) revealed details on the three winning film projects for 2015. Held on Thursday November 19th, the Connection's jury suggested an additional Jury Prize for the upcoming installments.

SANAD Film Fund's prize of $10,000 USD was granted to a project in development phase, All Naked Men, by Bassam CHekhes from Syria. Aida El Kashef's Egyptian film Ward no.3, in post-production, received Aroma's Color Grading Package award. The join production award granted by Mohamed Hefzy's Film Clinic and Hani Ossama's The Producers is awarded to Souad by Ayten Amin from Egypt.

The CFC jury encompasses Paul Baboudjian, Director of Screen Institute Beirut (SIB), Catherine Buresi and Intishal Al Timimi, Director of the Arab Programing at SANAD Film Fund. The jury donated their fees 30,000 EGP for an additional prize which went to Najwa Najjar's A Son of an Important Man. The jury urged the festival to include an additional Jury Prize in the connection's upcoming editions.

CFC this year hosted representatives of 12 projects in development and production phases to be part of the three-day course in Cairo to communicate with cinema industry delegates, local and international producers and distributors including: Roman Paul from the German Razor Films, Laetitia Gonzalez from Films Du Poisson and English producer Paul Webster Head of CIFF Jury. On a later date, CFC will announce the full list of delegates participating in the connection's new edition.

Cairo Film Connection hosts filmmakers from all over the world, who have a project with an Arab connection (director, producer, co-producer, main talent, location, subject matter, etc...). Producers and directors with feature-length projects and feature-length creative documentaries either at the development or post-production phase are encouraged to apply.

The connection aims at opening opportunities for talented filmmakers to meet and network with other entities that may be potential project partners. In addition, several cash prizes are offered to help the projects throughout their development and completion.

The 1st Cairo Film Connection was held in 34th Cairo International Film Festival 2010 and proved its importance as a worthwhile experience to the participants. In 2012, CFC held its second edition hosting a larger number of successful meetings between filmmakers and industry delegates. Many of the filmmakers who were invited to attend the two previous editions of CFC completed their films, all notable works, which achieved various successes in festivals all over the world. CFC will continue as a platform that empowers Arab filmmakers to take their projects to the widest audiences possible.
