Asian Film Nina Wu Screens at the Tunisian Film Library on Tuesday, March 9
Asian film Nina Wu by director Midi Z will have a screening at the Tunisian Film Library, at Tahar Chériaa hall on Tuesday, March 9, at 4:00 PM (Tunisia time). This comes after the film’s great success and following its participation at dozens of international festivals, where it won five awards. The film will be screened with English and Arabic subtitles.

The film landed its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival within the Uncertain Regard section, and has previously won several awards, including the Best Sound Effects at the Golden Horse Film Festival in Taiwan, Audience Choice Award at the Malaysia Golden Global Awards, Special Mention at the Sitges - International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, Best Sound Effects at the Taipei International Film Festival, and Best Screenplay at the To Ten Chinese Film Festival.

After eight years toiling in bit-parts, aspiring actress Nina Wu finally gets her big break with a leading role in a spy thriller set in the 1960s. On the brink of triumph, though, Nina’s psychological resolve begins to crack. She rushes back to her family home to deal with two crises: her father’s business has gone bankrupt and her mother has suffered a heart attack.

Nina Wu is directed by Midi Z, who has co-written it with the film’s writer and star WU Ke-xi, and stars SUNG Yu-hua, Kimi Hsia, and Shih Ming-Shuai. MAD Solutions handles the film’s distribution in the Arab world.
