Arab celebrity Hend Sabry Launches Her New Production Company at Cannes Film Festival
At the biggest film market in the world, which is held within the framework of the Cannes Film Festival, Arab star Hend Sabry has announced the establishment of a new production company,Salam PROD., which will reveal its first slate of projects at a later date.

Hend commented on the news by saying, "I created Salam PROD. in order to produce projects I have always dreamt of, without having to commit to a certain number of annual projects. The company will only produce special projects that I am particularly interested in. This does not mean I will act in every one of these projects, and I am not seeking to compete with other production companies in the Arab world. I haven't turned into a producer or a businesswoman all of a sudden! My main focus will always be on my family, my acting career and my social work in the Arab world."

Hend chose to make this announcement through the Arab Cinema Centre (ACC), now in its second edition at the Cannes Film Market, saying, "The ACC is the perfect space for Arab filmmakers and production companies. The Arab world has a population of 350 million, and among them there are millions of talented people from all walks of life that need opportunities in the entertainment industry. It is important for artists and producers to collaborate in order to achieve that."

The ACC is an international platform promoting Arab cinema. It is organised by MAD Solutions, whose strategy is to support filmmaking in the Arab world and promote it further by providing Arab filmmakers a window of opportunity to communicate with other international filmmakers through a number of activities, thereby facilitating networking between production companies and co-producers, distributers and more.

The Cannes Film Market is the biggest film market in the world, in which more than 960 films were presented last year. The Film Market was established in 1959 to serve the many disciplines of filmmaking. The market attracts more than 10,000 entertainment professionals annually from over 100 countries.
