Arab Cinema Center Supports Film Co-Productions between the Arab and Irish Filmmakers


Heralding a promising year in the light of its new strategy for 2016, targeting 20 international festivals and film markets, Arab Cinema Center (ACC), organized by MAD Solutions, spreads its particolored wings at the Silk Road Film Festival in Dublin, Ireland (10 -14 March).

Under the umbrella of the Center, Film Analyst Alaa Karkouti, CEO of MAD Solutions, will present a seminar on the film industry in the Arab world on Saturday, March 12th. The seminar will shed light on creating opportunities for collaborations in film distribution and co-production between Ireland and the Arab world.

The Silk Road Film Festival aims to attract film projects from countries where the ancient Silk Road passed through connecting Asia, the Middle East, Africa, the Mediterranean and Europe commercially and culturally.

Arab Cinema Center (ACC) opened the year with intensive activities at the 45th International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), followed by the 66th Berlinale and Qumra Doha Film Institute
(4-9 March).

Along with 26 partner film companies and organizations from around the world in the largest partnership since the center was established, the ACC will be concurrently taking place at the HKTDC Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART) (14-17 March). Details about festivals and film markets on the ACC's map during 2016 will be revealed on a later date.

Previously, ACC revealed its year-round partnership with Variety magazine as the Center's media partner; in addition to a digital partnership with Festival Scope and a technology sponsorship withStriim.in to promote ACC's events in 2016.

Arab Cinema Center (ACC) is operating as an international promotional platform for Arab cinema as it provides Arab filmmakers with a professional window to connect with filmmakers from all over the world through a number of events that it organizes and provides networking opportunities with representatives of companies and institutions specialized in co-production and international distribution, among others.

The Center's activities vary between Film Market main wings, introduction sessions for Arab and foreign filmmakers, welcome parties, meetings with international organizations and festivals, in addition to releasing an ACC guide to be distributed among the Film Market visitors.
