Arab Cinema Center Offers an Award to Producer Mark Lotfy at Beirut Cinema Platform

Arab Cinema Center (ACC) has revealed that Egyptian Producer Mark Lotfy (Souad feature film project) has won the ACC Award within the events of the Beirut Cinema Platform (BCP), which is held as part of the 9th Ayam Beirut Al Cinema'iya (Beirut Cinema Days). The award ensures that the ACC will fund the producer's travel expenses to attend the Berlinale (2018), providing him with a chance to meet with key filmmakers from all over the world at one of the largest international festivals.

Beirut Cinema Platform (BCP) is a co-production platform for Arab independent filmmakers/producers working on their first or second feature-length documentary or fiction films. The ACC's participation in the platform comes within its strategy of taking part in more than 20 film festivals and markets this year.

Souad is Egyptian director Ayten Amin's debut feature. The film is produced by Mark Lotfy (Fig Leaf Studio) and Tunisian actress/producer Dora Bouchoucha (Nomadis Images). The film attracted attention early on as it won the Joint Production Award offered by Film Clinic (Mohamed Hefzy) and The Producers (Hani Osama) at the Cairo Film Connection (CFC), which was held within the Cairo International Film Festival (2015).

The Arab Cinema Center (ACC), organized by MAD Solutions for the third year in 2017, is an international promotional platform for Arab cinema as it provides the filmmaking industry with a professional window to connect with their counterparts from all over the world through a number of events that it organizes. ACC also provides networking opportunities with representatives of companies and institutions specialized in co-production and international distribution, among others.

The Arab Cinema Center's activities vary between film market main wings, introduction and networking sessions for Arab and foreign filmmakers, welcome parties, as well as meetings with international organizations and festivals, and the issuance of the Arab Cinema Magazine to be distributed at the leading international film festivals and markets.
