Al-Mammar Closes in on EGP 75 Million in Eight Weeks


Al-Mammar exceeds the EGP 70 million mark in Egyptian box office revenues in eight weeks. Directed by Sherif Arafa, produced by Hisham Adbel Khalek and starring Ahmed Ezz, the film is expected to reach EGP 75 million before the Eid Al Adha season. Al-Mammar succeeded in securing its rank among the most successful films at the box office in the history of Egyptian cinema.

The highly acclaimed film Al-Mammar also received several honors from prestigious organizations including, Al-Ahram Foundation and the Arab Academy for Science Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT), which is one of the organizations operated by the Presidency and the Arab League, in addition to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Nation's Future Party, and a number of TV channels.

Most recently, Al Masa Art Production released Al-Mammar theUAE, Jordan, and Lebanon. The film is expected to be released soon in the rest of the Arab countries, sponsored by EgyptAir, the official sponsor of the film's world tour.

Al-Mammar is written and directed by Sherif Arafa, co-scripted by songwriter Amir Teima, who also wrote the original songs for the film. The film takes place during the 1967 war until the beginning of the War of Attrition.

Featuring an all-star cast, Al-Mammar brings together superstar Ahmed Ezz, Ahmed Rizk, Eyad Nassar, AhmedFalawkas, Mohamed Farrag, Ahmed Salah Hosny, Mohamed El Sharnouby, Mohamed Gomaa, Mahmoud Hafez, Ameer Salah Eldin, Asmaa Aboul Yazeed, and the new face Alhan El-Mahdy. The film also brings together Hend Sabry, Sherif Mounir, Enaam Salousa, and Hagag Abdel Azim as guest stars.The film's score is composed by music composer Omar Khairat. The crew also includes DOP Ayman Abu El Makarem, Production Designer Basel Hossam and Sound Engineer Ahmed Abdel Khalek. An American crew was employed to choreograph the battle scenes. WE Telecom is the main sponsor of the film.

Al-Mammar was filmed over the course of three months. The production company constructed all the sets for the film as the Egyptian Department of Morale Affairs provided the shooting locations, and set designers were employed to construct exact replicas of the real-life locations at the time of the film's events
