Film Editor Ahmed Hafez Wins an Award at the Annual Film Society Festival for Egyptian Cinema

Within the 46th Annual Film Society Festival For Egyptian Cinema,film editor Ahmed Hafez won the Best Editing award for his work in Blue Elephant: Dark Whispers by director Marwan Hamed. The awards ceremony will take place at Renaissance Cinema, Downtown, Cairo, on Saturday, February 8 at 06:00 PM, with the attendance of Minister of Culture Enas Abdel Dayem.

Egyptian film editor Ahmed Hafez has enjoyed an impressive career full of outstanding achievements. His editing credits include more than 30 films and TV series, such as the films: The Blue Elephant, Al Daif (The Guest), Diamond Dust, Sheikh Jackson, Al Maslaha (The Deal), 45 Days, Al Rahina (The Hostage), and Clash, which opened the Un Certain Regard section at the 69th Cannes Film Festival, and the TV series: La Tottfe' Al Shams (Don't let the Sun Set), Tareeqy (My Path), Grand Hotel, and Tayea. Hafez won many awards for his work, including three Best Editing awards for Clash at the Carthage Film Festival (JCC), Cairo Film Society Festival, and the Egyptian National Film Festival, Best Editing awardfor The Guest: Aleppo-Istanbul at the International Bosphorus Film Festival, and four Best Editing awards for The Originals.

Blue Elephant: Dark Whispers is by far the most successful film edited by Hafez. The film has become the highest-grossing film in the history of Egyptian cinema with revenues surpassing EGP 100 million. Directed by Marwan Hamed and written by Ahmed Mourad, Blue Elephant:

Now available on Shahid.net, Hafez edited Fi Kol Osbu' Yowm Goma'a (In Every Week There is a Friday) (Ibrahim Abdel Meguid) series by director Mohamed Shaker Khodeir and starring Menna Shalaby and Asser Yassin. Hafez is currently editing Egyptian director Amr Salama's TV series Paranormal, based on the best-selling Arabic horror books by late author Ahmed Khaled Tawfik. Paranormal marks Netflix's first ever original Egyptian series. Heis also editing director Ahmad Alaa Aldeeb's new film Al Aref: Awdat Younis, starring Ahmed Ezz.
