Ahmad Lands Its World Premiere at the Arab Film Festival in California, USA


Director Ameer Ihsan's short film Ahmad will hold its world premiere at the 21st Arab Film Festival in California, USA (13-22) which will take place in two cities; San Francisco, then in Los Angeles (27-29 October). Ahmad is competing within the festival's Shorts Programme.

The film tells the story of Ahmad who is confined to his home by his father, but when his brother comes back from abroad, Ahmad is encouraged to rise up against his father.

Written and directed by Ameer Ihsan, Ahmad stars Karam Thamer, Ahmad Sadoon and Muhsin Khazaal. The film's cast also includes; DOPs Ahmed Al-Hilali and Salam Salman, and Ayman Al Shatri who is responsible for the film's editing and visual effects by. MAD Solutions is handling the film's distribution in the Arab world.

Established in California in 1996, the Arab Film Festival is the largest independent annual showcase of Arab films and filmmakers in the country. The festival has an international standing and is considered one of the most important Arab film festivals outside the Arab world.
