DayDram, founded by producer and director Mohamed Samir, is bringing diversity to 2013. The company is developing five new projects in different production phases all of which are marked by the company's magnetic ability of blending the creativity of independent filmmakers with the professionalism in art and production.DayDream will also continue to collaborate with regional and international filmmaking and cinema development entities.

Producer Mohamed Samir announced that shooting has just wrapped on three short films produced byDayDream namely: 6 by Bahaa' Al Gamal, Grey (Romady) by Hassaan Ne'ama, both of which have previously won a grant from the Ministry of Culture, and Helm Al Mashhad (Dream Scene) which is directed & written byYasser Shafaei.

Mohamed Samir is also currently preparing to start shooting his short feature directorial debut 7-10, which is written by him. Samir has directed and produced a video clip for a song by Black Theama music band calledFree.

Director Mohamed Khan is in the final stages of filming The Factory Girl which is considered DayDream'sbiggest productions and its first long feature. The Factory Girl stars Yasmine Raes and singer Hany Adel and is written by Wissam Suliman. The film has received a support grant from the Egyptian Film Center which is under the jurisdiction of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.

In 2013, Mohamed Samir will participate in a workshop titled Access to Markets in the Digital Era which will be organized by Media Business School in Spain. The workshop aims to provide feature and documentary film producers from the south Mediterranean countries with a professional training. The workshop focuses on the strategies of development, funding, marketing and co-production.

Producer Mohamed Samir isexpanding DayDream's work to include stage productions such as I came to Tell a Story by director Mahmoud Sami and Brain Improvisation by Amir Salaheddin, which is inspired from The End and Malone Dies by the renowned playwright Samuel Beckett.

The short feature Zafir was DayDream's first production and most significant work. Directed by Omar El Zohairy, the film won an excellence award at the 12th Goethe Independent Short Film Festival. The 20 minutes film was shot over the course of five successive days, and the actors were selected from a nursing home. Zafir wonSpecial Mention Award within Muhr Competition for Short Feature Films in the 8th Dubai International Film Festival and was screened for the first time in Egypt at the 8th Rencontres de l'image Festival which was organized by the French Cultural Center in Mounira in April, 2012. Zafir tells the state of an old couple of 70.

Established by producer Mohmed Samir, DayDream Art Production aims to bring new experiences to the Egyptian film market that reflect the company's unique and creative vision.
