The Curve Opens the Arab Film Festival Amman

After its European premiere at the 15th East End Film Festival (EEFF) in the UK, Director and writer Rifqi Assaf's feature film The Curve kicks off at the 6th Arab Film Festival Amman (July 17 - 25). The festival is curated by The Royal Film Commission Jordan (RFC) under the patronage of the Minister of Culture H.E. Dr. Adel Al Twaisi.

The Arab Film Festival Amman was established in 2011 by The Royal Film Commission Jordan with the aim of offering cinema lovers in Jordan film screenings from all over the Arab world along with being introduced to the modern Arab filmmaking industry and getting to know the level of skill and professionalism it has developed. The festival also offers the chance to meet with filmmakers from several Arab countries.

The Curve had its world premiere at the Muhr Feature Competition within the 12th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF). In addition, The Curve participated at the 5th Festival International de Cinéma et Mémoire Commune de Nador (International Festival of Common Memory Cinema in Nador) at the Films Long-métrages de Fiction en Competition (Long Feature Films Competition). The Curve also had its North American premiere at the 42nd Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) in the USA.

Written and directed by Rifqi Assaf, The Curve stars Palestinian star Ashraf Barhoum, Syrian actress Fatina Layla, Lebanese actor Mazen Moadam and Jordanian Ashraf Telfah. The Curve is about Radi, who leads a reclusive life in his own van, finds himself on a road trip with three strangers that alters his clockwork and very private lifestyle.

The film is a joint production between Jordanian Rula Nasser (The Imaginarium Films), Egyptian Mohamed Hefzy (Film Clinic) and French Xénia Maingo (Eaux Vives Productions). MAD Solutions is handling the film's distribution and marketing worldwide.
