Studio ZAT Offers Dance Improvisation Workshop Led by French Dancer Florence Moutin

Studio ZAT continues to promote the importance of dance as a contemporary form of art where body, mind and soul are in full harmony within a homogenous movement by organizing a two-day dance improvisation workshop led by French dancer Florence Moutin (Friday, 30 September - Saturday, 1 October). The workshop will start at 12:00 noon until 06:00 pm.

Florence will train the participants on how to improvise dance movements, focus on internal communication, and harmonizing the body with the soul and with nature using a specific sensitive and meditative technique to guide them as they delve into a sensitive form of art that requires simplicity, authenticity, and spontaneity.

The workshop will start off with yoga exercises and body-mind centering tools for warm-up so that the body and mind reach a full state of harmony. Then, it will move on to contemporary dance techniques to connect the body with reality, ending with improvised moves and choreography.

Florence is a prominent French theatrical dancer and improvisation trainer. Through her training sessions, she aims to free the body and transform its moves into a creative language to promote self-confidence, creativity, and the ability to express oneself. She studied literature, linguistics, Body-Mind Centring, contemporary dance, and Hatha yoga. She conducted numerous workshops and trained many individuals in contemporary dance, theater, movement, writing, and yoga. She has been living and working in Cairo for seven years now and has collaborated as a trainer and choreographer with the Cairo Contemporary Dance Center, Nahda Arts School - NAS, Centre Rézodanse (Alexandria), Lycée Français du Caire, and Save the Children NGO.

Studio ZAT aims to offer specialized workshops for amateur and professional actors to advance their craft. Participants are taught by Egyptian and foreign trainers within a suitable environment. The studio also offers an acting workshop, which includes special training concerning cameras, theatre, filmmaking for beginners, theatre direction, body dynamics, scriptwriting, as well as acting workshops for children to bring out their creativity and enhance their communication and storytelling skills.
