Studio ZAT Offers Cinematography Workshop Conducted by DOP Mahmoud Lotfy


As the DOP needs not only the talent, but also knowledge, Studio ZAT offers a new Cinematography workshop that will be conducted by DOP Mahmoud Lotfy. The workshop starts on Friday January 29th
and will extend for three months (60 hours) for 700 EGP as monthly fees.

The workshop will introduce the participants to the basics of lighting, sources of lighting, night shooting, cars narrow places lightings and differences between various models of cameras and how to choose the right camera for every film project; whether its feature, documentary, a TV film, commercial or otherwise. The workshop also will discuss the use of different lenses and how to differentiate between those types, the colors, how to control the temperature and the balance between black and white and the primary techniques of filming versus the high cost ones and related issues.

Mahmoud Lotfy is a successful Egyptian DOP who studied cinema in the Egyptian Film Institute in Giza. For 3 years, Lotfy conducted cinematography courses in Jesuite School of Cinema. His filmography, which received wide Arab and International acclaim, includes Heliopolis by director Ahmed Abdallah El Sayed, Transit Cities by Jordanian director Mohammed Al Hushki, Coming Forth by Day by Hala Lotfy
and Factory Girl by acclaimed director Mohamed Khan.

Studio ZAT aims to offer specialized workshops for amateur and professional actors to advance their craft. Participants are taught by Egyptian and foreign trainers within a suitable environment. The studio also offers an acting workshop, which includes special training concerning cameras, theater, filmmaking for beginners, theater direction, body dynamics, scriptwriting, as well as acting workshops for children to bring out their creativity and enhance their communication and storytelling skills.
