Special Screening for the Emirati Film Abdullah at the Georgetown University in Qatar

Director Humaid Alsuwaidi's Emirati film Abdullah will be screened at the Georgetown University in Qatar on Wednesday, the 15th of February. The screening will be held under the auspices of the Georgetown's Film Society and the event is open to all university students in Qatar.

Abdullah follows the story of a young man who grew up in a very conservative family where many things are "haram" while he struggles over the years to hide his love for music. Abdullah stars Mohammed Ahmed, Mansour Al Feeli, Fatima Altaei, Alaa Shaker, David Daly and Brent Jenkins.

Written and directed by Humaid Alsuwaidi, who also co-produced the film along with Ahmed Lotfy, Abdullah was filmed on a shoestring budget over 34 days in Ajman and Abu Dhabi, while Creative Lab and Twofour54 provided the equipment for filming. Mile Studios in Dubai is handling the film's post-production phase and MAD Solutions is distributing the film in the Arab world.

An Emirati writer, producer and director, Humaid Alsuwaidi is a graduate of the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. Abdullah is his directorial debut.
