Short Film SACRILEGE Takes Part in the Urban Films Festival in France
The short film SACRILÃˆGE by director Christophe M. Saber is taking part in the Urban Films Festival in France (9 - 14 October). The film will be screened on Saturday, October 13 at 09:00 pm (GMT+2) within the Screenings Programme 2.
Founded 13 years ago, the Urban Films Festival is an annual event held in Paris and is the first film festival of its kind dedicated to urban cultures, showing the customs and the lifestyles of this social trend.
The short film tells the story of Saoud, who is the king of his neighborhood in Saint Etienne, France. A rumor comes up that he might have stolen money from the local mosque. Saoud faces a violent series of accusations which will lead to his fall and exile.
Written and directed by Christophe M. Saber, SACRILÃˆGE stars Mehdi Djaadi and JÃ©rÃ©mieSaber, and produced by Elodie Brunner, Elena Tatti, and FranÃ§ois Morisset. MAD Solutions is distributing the film in the Arab world.
The film took part in a number of film festivals including Carthage Film Festival (JCC), and won the Best Short Film award at the Max OphÃ¼ls Preis in Germany, Special Jury Mention at the ExtÃ©rieur Nuit in France, and the Best Actor Award at the Festival du CinÃ©ma EuropÃ©en de Lille in France.
