Saba Mubarak Plays Five Characters on SNL Arabia Next Saturday


Jordanian star Saba Mubarak is going to guest-star on Saturday Night Live Arabia (SNL Arabia) show on OSN YaHala! Channel on Saturday, April 22 at 7:00 pm. Mubarak is going to be part of some sketches playing different characters such as an old lady, a bride and a fly.

Recently, Mubarak started filming her last scenes in the third season of Hekayat Banat TV series. The TV series follows the stories of four girls and their relationships, secret lives, dreams and ambitions. Saba's latest film, The Guest, was shot in Turkey and discusses the challanges faced by some Syrian refugees while on their way to Germany.

With her diverse repertoire across the Arab world in cinema, TV dramas, in addition to theatre, Jordanian star Saba Mubarak started her acting career in the Jordanian TV drama Qamar W Sahar (1998) before she finished her acting and directing studies at the Yarmouk University in 2001. Throughout her career, Mubarak was part of many important TV dramas such as Balqees, Moga Harra (Heat Wave), Al A'hd and Hekayat Banat. Her acting credits include the Jordanian film Transit Cities (Winner of the FIPRESCI Prize for Best Feature at the Dubai International Film Festival in 2010), Bentein Min Masr and Mamlakat Al Naml (The Kingdom of Ants). Saba has received a number of Arab and international awards including; the Tyche Award for Best Jordanian and Arab Actress at the Tyche Jordan Awards in Jordan and the Best Actress Award at the Middle East Now Festival in Italy. In 2016, Mubarak starred in the TV series Afrah Al Qoba (Wedding Song) that became one of the most-watched series during the Ramadan season. Her latest film The Guest that discusses the Syrian refugees' challenges in Turkey marks her first international film. The film is expected to be released soon in theaters.
