Mosawer Kateel Reaps 5 Awards & Boshra Wins the Best Actress Award

New Century Film Dominates the Catholic Center Cinema Festival Awards


Dollar Film (New Century) has dominated the awards of the 61st Catholic Center Cinema Festival whereMosawer Kateel and Gedo Habibi reaped six awards. The festival administration has selected only five films produced in 2012 to compete in the official competition, three of selected Films were produced by Dollar Film (New Century).

Mosawer Kateel won five awards namely; the Special Jury Award to Karim Al Adl ,Best Music Hany Adel ,Best Cinematography Abdel Salam Mosa, Best Set Decoration Hamdy Abdel Rahman, and Best SoundEngineer Mahmoud Fawzi.

Boshra won the Best Actress Award for her role in Gedo Habibi. The festival also witnessed the participation of After the Battle by Yusri Nasrallah, another Dollar Film (New Century) production which takes place during the period of the Egyptian revolution after the Battle of Camels.

Mosawer Kateel is a police thriller written by Amr Salama, stars Eyad Nassar, Dorra, Horria Farghali,Ahmed Fahmi and directed by Karim Al Adl. The film tells the story of a photographer, who witnesses a murder under mysterious conditions, thinking it was a dream at first; he soon realizes it actually occurred, raising his suspicions about everyone around him.

Gedo Habibi is directed by Ali Iddris, written by Zeinab Aziz and stars Boshra opposite of Mahmoud Yassin, Lobna Abdel Aziz, Ahmed Fahmi and Youssef Dawood. Boshra plays the role of Fekreya a young girl who loses all her money in the stock market, She decide to come back to Egypt to see her grandfather (Mahmoud Yassin) after being informed that he is very ill in order to guarantee that all his fortune moves to her. She helps her grandfather to find his love and she falls in love with her grandson. She lives in a state of happiness but for a short time because of her grandfather's death.
