Nardine Farag Hosts the 1st Edition of the Cairo Design Award


The management of the Cairo Design Award (CDA) has selected Nardine Farag to present its first edition on Wednesday at the Nile Ritz-Carlton. The CDA is the first creative designers' platform in the Arab world. Six awards will be presented in various design areas.

Nardine Farag is will also be presenting the second season of The Voice Kids as its first episode will aire on MBC on Saturday.

On hosting the CDA, Nardine Farag comments, "Design is one of the most important fields. In the Arab world and Egypt, we have very bright names in this field, and creative young people who have creative designs, whether in accessories, decor, furniture, floors, kitchens...etc. However, we needed a platform and a place through which those designers can exhibit their work. That is what the Cairo Design Award (CDA) offers. I'm very happy to have been chosen to host this event as I love that field."

The event will be attended by jury members of key names in the field of design, including jewelry designer Azza Fahmy, set designer Onsi Abo Sief, Eng. Tarek Naga, Eng. Amr Helmi and Eng. Karim Mokhtajian. The event will also be attended by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Tareq Qabeel. The event will end by announcing the winners and a musical evening conducted by the international musician Omar Khairat. The CDA aims to create a local platform for creative designers to communicate, interact and exchange ideas and experiences.

Currently, Nardine Farag is shooting the fourth season of The Voice that will air soon on MBC. Most recently, Nardine hosted the opening ceremony of the first edition of 2017 El Gouna Film Festival. In October, Farag launched a campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer. Farag published a video to explain the symptoms of the disease, stressing the need for a periodic check to avoid the sudden injury.

Graduated from the English Department of Faculty of Commerce, Alexandria University, Egyptian TV presenter/actress Nardine Farag started her career as a Radio presenter at Nogoom FM in 2008, presenting Eesh Sabahak Ma'a Coca-Cola. At the same time, Farag worked as a TV presenter in the Egyptian TV channel OTV, where she presented A'det Setat, Sabahak Sokkar Zeyada and Top 20. As a successful presenter, Farag became the Director of the 88.2 radio station, and in 2012 she hosted the candidates running for president back then to discuss their presidential campaigns. Later on, Nardine became the presenter of Arabs Got Talent Extra within the third and fourth seasons and in 2015 she presented ET Bel Arabi, marking her second collaboration with the MBC Group. In 2016, Nardine Farag made her foray into acting in the TV drama Fouq Mostawa El Shobohat with superstar Youssra, and in 2017 she repeated the experience in El Hesab Yegma'. Last September, Farag was selected to host the opening ceremony of the first edition of El Gouna Film Festival. Currently, Farag is shooting the new episodes of the 4th season of the reality TV singing competition The Voice, which is set to premiere on TV soon.
