Mustafa Z Wins Two Awards at the Closing Ceremony of the Alexandria International Film Festival


Tunisian film Mustafa Z by director Nidhal Chatta won two awards at the 34th Alexandria International Film Festival for Mediterranean Countries. The film received the Special Jury Prize and the Best Actor award went to Abdelmonem Chouayet.

Mustafa Z follows an ordinary Tunisian guy through a series of unexpected events that change the course of his life in 24 hours, just a few hours before the country's first democratic presidential elections. Directed by Nidhal Chatta, the film stars Abdelmonem Chouayet, Fatma Nasser, Aissa Harrath, Frid Memmich, Narjess Ben Ammar and Sabri Khiari. The film is produced by SOUTH BY SOUTH WEST FILMS and BLACK & LIGHT and distributed by MAD Solutions in the Arab world.

Most recently, Mustafa Z won the Grand Prize and Best Actor to Abdelmonem Chouayet at the 7th Festival Maghrbin du Film d'Oujda.
