Lollipop Screens in Three Film Festivals in USA and France during June

During June, Lollipop by Hanaa Saleh Alfassi is having an extensive festival tour as the film has been selected to screen in three different festivals; the Arab Film Festival at Cinetopia (1 - 10 June) in USA, the 15th edition of the Festimaj International School Film Festival (30 May - 30 June) in France, and the Festival des Cinmas Arabes Paris (23 June - 8 July).

At the Festimaj International School Film Festival, the film is scheduled to screen on Saturday, June 9 at 02:00 pm at the Arab American National Museum with English subtitles. In addition, Lollipop is the festival opener of the Festimaj International School Film Festival and it is selected to compete within the official competition for short films at the Festival des Cinmas Arabes Paris.

Lollipop is following the story of a 14-year-old Muslim girl who experiences the onset of puberty, meaning she must begin wearing a full black niqab. When her tormentor at school swipes her jacket, a case of mistaken identity exposes the perversity of the bully's father. The film landed its world premiere at the 14th Dubai International Film Festival, within the Short Muhr competition.

Lollipop is directed by Hanaa Saleh Alfassi and stars Malak Radwan, Ayman Samman, and Sarah Alhazmi. The film is produced by Hanaa Saleh Alfassi, Shannon Emigh, Co-founder of Axe Pictures (USA), alongside Alex Lampsos and Malika Frikouk, Executive Producer and Co-founder of the Moroccan branch of the company. The film was partly funded by Enjaaz, Dubai Film Market's production support programme, and is distributed in the Arab world by MAD Solutions.
