Director Jonas Carpignano’s Italian film A Ciabmra will screen at the Annual Film Society Festival For Egyptian Cinema on Saturday, January 23 at 6:30 pm. In the light of Coronavirus pandemic, the film’s screening will be held with 50% attendance capacity, taking all precautions needed to ensure safety. The screening will take place at the festival’s headquarters in Sherif St., Downtown, Cairo, and entrance will be made for free.

Directed by Jonas Carpignano, A Ciambra is a co-production of Italy, France, USA and Sweden and landed its world premiere at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, as part of its Directors' Fortnight section. Moreover, it was Italy's Official Submission to the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 2018 Academy Awards.

Set in a small Romani community in Calabria, A Ciambra follows Pio, a 14-year-old brat who is desperate to grow up fast. He follows his older brother, Cosimo, everywhere. When he disappears, Pio sets out to prove he's ready to step into his big brother's shoes. MAD Solutions handles the film’s distribution in the Arab World.
