FCID Takes Part in Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris with Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim

Film Clinic Indie Distribution (FCID) is set to participate in the 19th Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris with its latest film Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim by Director Sherif El Bendary, which will be screened on Sunday, January 15 at 9:00 am within the film market that will be held from 12 to 16 January.

The company's participation in the first and most important film market to be held in 2017 comes within its role as film producer and distributor in the Middle East.

This news coincides with the announcement that the French sales agent Loco Films will now be responsible for the film's worldwide distribution, aside from the Arab world where MAD Solutions co-distributes the film in cooperation with Film Clinic Indie Distribution (FCID). Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim is co-produced by Producer Mohamed Hefzy's company Film Clinic, Producer Hossam Elouan's Transit Films, Producer Guillaume de Seille's Arizona Productions (France), along with Daniel Ziskind as Associate Producer.

Held in cooperation with Unifrance, Rendez-Vous with French Cinema is one of the largest film markets in the world dedicated to French cinema. This year, the Rendez-Vous will host 500 film buyers, exhibitors and distributors and 115 journalists from 34 countries, in addition to 81 films from around the world. A new section will also be introduced this year featuring non-French speaking films in an effort to promote foreign films that have received support from French organizations.

Directed by Sherif El Bendary and written by Ahmed Amer, based on Ibrahim El Batout's story, Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim follows a strange love story of a young man living in a rough neighborhood. He travels across Egypt on the recommendation of a psychic along with Ibrahim who is almost driven mad by the voices he hears in his head. Their journey turns into a voyage of friendship and self-discovery.

The film's world premiere was held at the 2016 Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) where it competed within the Muhr Feature competition and Ali Sobhi won the Best Actor Award for his role in the film. Director Sherif El Bendary's debut feature Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim won three awards during its participation in the Final Cut Workshop at the Venice International Film Festival.
