Excuse My French Makes Its US Premiere at the Washington, DC International Film Festival


Amr Salama's Excuse My French will have its US premiere on Sunday, April 20th, 2014, at Washington, DC International Film Festival, as part of The Lighter Side section, which showcases comedies criticizing their societies.

Excuse My French is still screening successfully in Egyptian theatres heading the box office since its release
12 weeks ago, with revenues of 8 million EGP.

The film will have two screenings at Avalon theatre, the first of which will be on Sunday, April 20th, 2014, at 05:00 pm, whereas the second will take place on Friday, April 25th, at 06:30 pm.

Excuse My French had its Canadian premiere in Cinema Guzzo in Montreal, on March 7th, 2014, whereas it had its world premiere at the opening gala of Luxor Egyptian and European Film Festival on, January 19th, 2014, three days before its launching in Egyptian theatres.

Written and directed by Amr Salama, Excuse My French is produced by Film Clinic and The Producers Films which runs by producer Hani Ossama. Starring Kinda Alloush, Hany Adel, and the talented child Ahmed Dash, the film is distributed in Egyptian theatres by Al Massah Art Production, whereas the United Artistic Group is handling its theatrical release across the world.

The film tells the story of Hany Abdallah Peter, a child whose life turns upside down after the death of his father and his mother's discovery of the huge debts they have to pay. He is forced to experience the huge gap between classes after moving from his old elite private school to a public one. Things get complicated for Hany after having to hide being a Christian surrendering to the assumptions of his classmates and teachers who didn't read his full name and mistook him for a Muslim.
