Exceptional Screening of the Short Film The Remaining Time at Cinema Akil in the UAE


Coinciding with the celebrations of the UAE's National Day, director Mohammed Ahmed Al Hammadi's short film The Remaining Time will screen at Cinema Akil in Dubai on Wednesday, December 5 and Saturday, December 8. The screenings will be part of an exceptional screening programme featuring a number of short films and will be followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.

Cinema Akil is an independent cinema platform that brings quality films from across the world to the audiences in the UAE. Showcasing directors and filmmakers across the decades, Cinema Akil aims to create awareness and interest in film and the cinematic arts.
After the earth was invaded by aliens, a girl is held in a room with a stranger trying to survive a mysterious night.

Written, directed and produced by Mohammed Ahmed Al Hammadi, The Remaining Time stars Rashed Hasan, Manahel Alawadi, Dania A. Moussa, Suhaib Abdullah, and Faris Najee. The film is produced by Madwriter, and distributed across the Arab world by MAD Solutions.

Mohammed Ahmed Al Hammadi is an Emirati writer/director/producer/actor. Graduated from Sharjah Art Institute, he joined the New York Film Academy in 2016 to complete his studies. After having made his feature debut with the well-received Abdullah at the Dubai International Film Festival in 2015, he has been directing, producing and writing several film projects. His latest films are The Remaining Time, which world premiered at the Dubai International Film Festival in 2017, and the feature film Musk (2019).
