Director Mohammed Hammad A Guest Speaker in a Panel Discussion at Panorama of the European Film


Director Mohammed Hammad is set to take part in the 9th Panorama of the European Film (2 - 12 November) within the Carte Blanche Section. On Saturday, 5 November at Zawya Cinema in Cairo, Hammad will be a guest speaker at the panel discussion that will be held following the screening of Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan's film Uzak.

Next week, Hammad will head to the 27th Stockholm International Film Festival (9 - 20 November) to take part in the festival's jury for the Impact competition; one of the festival's official competitions. His debut feature film Withered Green will also participate in the festival within the Discovery section where it will compete for the Audience Award.

Mohammed Hammad is an Egyptian director with a number of short films in his repertoire. He wrote, produced, and directed the short film Central (2008). In 2010, he produced and directed the short film Pale Red, which took part in many international festivals, receiving several awards.Withered Green is Hammad's debut long feature as a director, which he also wrote and produced. The film's world premiere was held at the Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland and participated in the Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur in Belgium.

Recently, Hammad was chosen as a jury member at the Cairo International Film Festival and in 2014 he was jury member at the Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and Shorts.
