Dhafer L'Abidine Takes Part in the Events of Dubai International Film Festival


Tunisian star Dhafer L'Abidine flies to Dubai to attend the events of the 13th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF). In addition to attending the film screenings in the festival's parti-colored competitions, L'Abidine will attend the various activities and programmes of the Arab Cinema Center (ACC), organized by MAD Solutions, which include the Arab Cinema LAB, on Monday, the 12th of December. L'Abidine will join the OSN's press conference for the SNL Arabia team; Khaled Mansour and Shady Alfons organized by OSN. Moreover, L'Abidine will make interviews with the Arab and international media.

Commenting on his participation, L'Abidine says,"The Dubai international Film Festival is one of the most important cinematic annual events in the Arab world, and I'm very keen to take part in it as it is considered as a multi-national hub that brings together filmmakers from all over the world. This provides a distinct atmosphere for rich discussions and opens great opportunities for the participants from different film schools to exchange experiences. Also, I'm looking forward to watching a number of Arab and international films that will be screened within this year's edition of the festival."

Most recently, L'Abidine has finished filming his scenes in the British TV series Fearless that is set to be aired next year. The filming took place between England and Spain. Directed by the BAFTA awarded director Pete Travis (Omagh), Fearless stars Michael Gambon (Path to War) and Helen McCrory (Hugo).

Dhafer made his acting debut in the UK in the popular TV series Dream Team on Sky TV. He then went on to appear in numerous British television dramas, including; Spooks (BBC), Strike Back (SkyTV/CINEMAX), Wallander (ITV), Wire in the Blood (ITV) and Hunted (BBC/HBO). He recently starred in season 5 of the French series Engranages on Canal+ and the American series Transporter on TNT and HBO Canada.

L'Abidine landed his Egyptian cinematic debut in the Egyptian comedy/action film Esmat Abu Shanab. Directed by Sameh Abdel Aziz and starring Yasmin Abdulaziz, the film generated more than 20 million EGP in the Egyptian box office.
