DOP Ahmad Al Morsy Joins the Accredited Members of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers


DOP Ahmad Al Morsy has been selected to become an accredited member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC), by which he is now eligible to add the association's acronym C.S.C. or CSC to his own name.

The Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1957 to promote the artistic creativity and required skills for cinematography. Its more than 500 accredited members are selected in accordance with specific criteria focusing on their unique cinematographic skills in various areas of film: feature films, documentaries, television series, specials and commercials. Only fully accredited members to this society are permitted to put the initials C.S.C. or CSC after their names.

A few months ago, Al Morsy won the Award of Distinction for The Originals film from the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) after competing against the winners of the Golden Award in the Cinema category. It is also the fifth award that Al Morsy has won since joining the society last year.

Al Morsy is a member of the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) and the Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC). For more than twenty years, DOP Ahmad Al Morsy has been working in the filmmaking industry making more than 50 films and won fifteen awards for his work, including Messages From The Sea (2010), The Party (2013), The Blue Elephant (2014), The Originals (2017), Diamond Dust (2018), and Blue Elephant: Dark Whispers, which is currently in cinemas and is close to reaching EGP 100 million in box-office revenues. He is currently working on the film Al Aref: Awdat Younis by director Ahmad Alaa Aldeeb and he will undertake the position of Lighting Director for the upcoming edition of El Gouna Film Festival.
