Al Daif Takes Part in Honoring the Egyptian Cinema Program at the Manarat Festival du Cinema Mediterraneen in Tunisia

Al Daif by director Hadi Elbagoury and writer Ibrahim Eissa continues its international tour by taking part in the 2nd edition of the Manarat Festival du Cinéma Méditerranéen in Tunisia (1 – 7 July), headed by the Tunisian producer Dora Bouchoucha. This marks the film's sixth international screening after a series of successful ones in Jordan, the Netherlands, Morocco, Estonia and Egypt. The film will screen on Wednesday, July 3rd at 10:30 pm in Korba in Nabeul Governorate.

Produced by iProductions, Al Daif generated more than EGP 8 million since its successful release in Egyptian theatres last January and received high critical acclaim by many critics. Al Daif screened at the Arab Film Festival Rotterdam and competed within in the Official Competition of the Festival International du Cinéma Méditerranéen de Tétouan. The film was also released in Jordanian theatres last April.

Al Daif’s world premiere was at the 22nd Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia, in which it won the Audience Award. Due to the huge audience demand, the film had a full-house screening. Al Daif is the sole Egyptian and African film that participated in the festival's Official Competition. It was also the first Egyptian feature film to participate in the official selection of the festival, which is one of the A-rated festivals along with 14 other international festivals around the world. The festival annually presents more than 250 feature films and 300 short and animated films within different programs.

Directed by Hadi Elbagoury and written by Ibrahim Eissa, the film stars Khaled El Sawy, Ahmed Malek, Shereen Reda and Jamila Awad, alongside guest stars Maged El Kedwany and Mohamed Mamdouh. The Guest tells the story of a young man who visits a family during dinner, and then the events develop in a direction that no one expects.

Al Daif marks the second collaboration between writer Ibrahim Eissa and iProductions after Mawlana. It is also the company's second time to work with Director Hadi Elbagoury after Hepta: the Last Lecture that is the highest-grossing romantic film in the history of Egyptian cinema with revenues more than EGP 27 million. This is the first collaboration between Eissa and Elbagoury.
