Adventure Documentary Film Beyond the Raging Sea Screens at El Gouna Film Festival on Saturday, September 21

Landing its world premiere, the adventure documentary Beyond the Raging Sea will screen at the TUB (Audi Max) during the 3 rd El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) on Saturday, September 21, at 4:00 PM. Recounting the incredible story of Omar Samra and Omar Nour's attempt to row across the Atlantic in an open boat, the first edition of the documentary film Beyond the Raging Sea by director Marco A Orsini participated in the Doc Corner of the Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival’s last edition.

Following the screening, a discussion with Omar Nour and Omar Samra will be held to recount the details of their adventure that has changed their perspectives on life.

Beyond the Raging Sea is an adventure documentary about the world’s toughest rowing challenge - an unsupported, 3,000 nautical mile journey from San Sebastian, La Gomera in the Spanish Canary Islands to Nelson’s Dockyard English Harbour in Antigua. Dedicating their high-profile endeavor to a humanitarian cause, Egyptian adventurer Omar Samra and Egyptian triathlete Omar Nour row across the Atlantic in an open boat, unsupported.

Beyond the Raging Sea is the gripping first person account of that experience narrated by those who lived it, capturing what they endured, what they felt and what it meant.

Written and directed by Marco A. Orsini, Beyond the Raging Sea is produced by Orsini in collaboration with DHL, UNHCR, IEFTA, UNDP, and executive producers Omar Samra, Omar Nour and John Giwa-Amu. The film’s original music is composed by George Acogny. MAD Solutions handles the film’s distribution and marketing in the Arab world.
