A New Professional Acting Workshop with Scottish Actor Laurance Rudic at Studio ZAT


In collaboration with Galleria40 Culture Lab, Studio ZAT is offering a professional acting workshop with Scottish theatre artist Laurance Rudic on Tuesday, September 27 th. In only six weeks, the trainees will be able to develop their acting skills under the mentorship of Rudic who through his vast experience as an actor will help them become the professional actors they dream to be.

The workshop aims to teach participants different acting skills, such as; improvisation, how to use the body language to effectively express inner feelings, how to change the tone of voice to match what the character needs in every scene, in addition to using the five senses to skillfully perform different types of characters and roles.

Laurance Rudic is a Scottish theatre artist, director and conductor who spent almost 45 years exploring creative tools in performance. For almost 25 years, he played in well over 100 productions as well as in leading theatre festivals. In London, he was a member of Ian McKellan's theatre group at the Royal National Theatre, in addition to the group of the two-times Oscars winner, Glenda Jackson.

Within his stay in Egypt, Rudic conducted many courses on acting, vocal training and movement at the American University in Cairo (AUC). He also taught somatic awareness at Karima Mansour's Cairo Contemporary Dance Centre, and created a workshop on spontaneity in performance for the Jesuit theatre school.
