Begins Its Theatrical Run at the Metropolis and VOX Cinemas in Beirut on Thursday
A Full-House for the Special Screening of Heaven Sent by Wissam Charaf with the Attendance of Celebs
Yesterday, Monday, MAD Solutions held the special screening of the Lebanese film Heaven Sent (Tomb√© du Ciel) by director Wisam Charaf that attracted a full house at its Arab world premiere. The film will start its theatrical release at the Metropolis Cinema in Beirut from May 25 to June 14, 2017 (Lebanese Films Programme) and at the VOX Cinema from May 25 to May 31, 2017.
The screening was attended by many celebrities, media personalities and public figures, most notably, director Nadine Labaki, directors Ghassan Salhab, Philippe Aractingi and Akram zaatari, along with film critic Pierre Abi Saab. On this occasion, the film's director Wissam Charaf said, "The moment of truth, when a film comes back to where it was shot and meets its public. A very special moment."
Heaven Sent had its world premiere at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival within the Association du Cin√©ma Ind√©pendant pour sa Diffusion (ACID).
After 20 years apart, Samir a former militiaman who was presumed dead reappears in the life of Omar, his little brother who has become a bodyguard in Beirut. Between drama and comedy, Samir has to come to terms with a country he no longer recognizes.
Scripted by Mariette D√©sert and the film's director Wissam Charaf, Heaven Sent stars Raed Yassin, Said Serhan, Yumna Marwan, Rodrigue Sleiman and George Melki. The film is a Lebanese-French co-production (Aurora Films and N√© √† Beyrouth) and MAD Solutions is handling its distribution in the Arab world.
Wissam Charaf is a Lebanese/French director who moved to Paris in 1998. Charaf has a repertoire of four short films: Hizz Ya Wizz, A Hero Never Dies, An Army of Ants and After, as well as the feature documentary It's All in Lebanon that won the Bronze Tanit at the Carthage Film Festival (JCC). His films participated at several film festivals including; the Locarno Film Festival, Belfort Entrevues Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), and others.
